Tour Plan
Day1: Marrakech – Drive to Imlil – Hike to Toubkal base camp.
08h00: departure from Marrakech by Private transportation. After 1h30, you will be welcomed by your mountain Guide in Imlil. Check of the equipment and get briefed prior to departure for the trek. Cross villages of Imlil and Ait Mizane river. Picnic lunch at the shrine of Chamharouch; a pre-islamic shrine.
After lunch, the trail continues through the Toubkal valley to the base camp it takes around 5 to 6 hours to reach the Toubkal Refuge
(base camp).
Day2: Toubkal base camp – Mount Toubkal Summit- Imlil
Today is a challenging day to achive the Toubkal Peak. The route starts at 5am zigzagging all the way up to the summit. It’s steep but a nice guided rhythm will be set from the beginning. the ascent to the summit and back to the refuge takes around 5-6 hours total, but the entire descent from the refuge to Imlil. after lunch adds another 4-5 hours of walking. Stay in Imlil in a nice Guest house.
Day3: Imlil – Kasbah Ait Benhadou – Ouarzazate – Rose valley – Dades valley
The journey will begin at 8am driving along the High Atlas Tichka pass to Ait Benhadou Kasbah. Known as a historical site, the kasbah remains a true reflexion of ancient architecture of the South East of Morocco. Here where many international movies took place. You will make short walk to explore the kasbah, lunch and head o Dades valley. On the way you will make frequent stops in very interesting places including Ouarzazate town and Rose valley town. Arrive to Dades valley by the end of the Day and stay at a local house.
Day4: Dades valley – Todra gorge – Merzouga sand dunes.
Today you will leave Dades valley around 9h00 and drive to Todra gorge; the biggest gorge cliff in Morocco. You will stop for lunch on the way at the village of Touroug. You will arrive to Merzouga dunes before the sunset and ride camels/ Hike (optional) over the dunes. You may catch up the sunset before arriving to the camp. Diner and music in the camp.
Day5: Dades valley – Todra gorge – Merzouga sand dunes.
Wake up for the sunrise and have some breakfast. Ride camel/ or hike back to the starting point. Get in to the bus back home.
Your final day of the trip will be long but rewarding. You will pass by Draa valley and Agdz palm date oasis. You will have lunch in Ouarzazate kasbah les jardins and head back to Marrakech
